Default Hero experience

1. How do I find out how much exp points does my hero currently have?
2. I took my lvl 15 monk hero to hm uw for powerlevel. My lvl 20 toon got over 20k exp in the run (just monster killing, no quests), but the hero didn't level, despite the fact he'd need obviously less than even 15k exp to gain a level, and even though he was within enchantment range at all times (he upkept smite enches on me). Anyone knows why?

You can't see how much exp your heroes have. It's annoying at times.

I'm not entirely sure about the second part. The only thing I could see is that your hero didn't actually hit any of the monsters. I believe the way exp works now is you have to be involved in the actual combat (such as hitting the monsters) but I may be wrong and there may be some loophole I'm missing.

Truth be told - it really doesn't matter. Get them to level 20, and that's all you need. They don't care about skill points, and xp is just a formality. The only thing that matters w/ heroes are their attribute points, any runes/insignias you want to give them, they weapons, and the skills you assign them. Considering they have access to every skill you've unlocked for the appropriate profession, they are also a bit ahead of the game when it comes to build choice. What are you looking for w/ their xp?

If you had actually bothered to read my post, you'd see I mentioned the hero is level 15, and I wanted to know why they aren't getting the exp they need to get them up to level 20 :/

To get xp you must have either

-Been in aggro range
-Attacked or used a skill against the target
-Used a skill on allies who are in combat with the target.

In hard mode doesnt it boost heroes/henchies to level 20 if they are below? perhaps that is why they did not gain in HM

This is a copy and paste from GWW:

"A Hero in your party gains XP and levels, just as a character does. A Hero can have a higher level than the character working with that Hero (which involves controlling your Hero from a distance, in which you don't gain XP while your Heroes do). If a Hero is of lower level than the character of the player who controls it, the Hero gains XP from kills at a vastly accelerated rate. Heroes in your party receive XP for quests and missions when you complete them. "

That means they just have to be in the same range as you to get xp, which isn't quite inside aggro range, they don't have to do anything. Also, if they get experience if they are in your party and you turn in a quest.

If you are looking for fast levelling, use the wurms in the desolation in Nightfall. Safe and fast.
